the bourne ultimatum

so.. what in the World is wrong with using a tripod for the bloody camera, exactly?

I went to see this movie yesterday and it was, with a difference, the worst of the series. Why bother designing a choreography for the fighting and chasing scenes when you make the camera shake so much that all detail is lost for the audience????

Honestly, if you have had epileptic seizures in the past this is not the movie for you. The continuous flashing of lights and excessive lateral movement is annoying enough even if you are not at risk.

What a waste of a decent script!

On the other hand, I've got something positive to talk about too! If you are in Singapore, and particularly if you enjoy beer and German food, you should visit Brotzeit in Vivo City. They claim to reproduce a Munich pub kind of ambience but it feels more upscale than your average bar. They serve very decent German beer and their food is excellent. I have been there several times and I have yet to find a dish that I find disappointing. It is definitely work a visit (or too).

once you go Mac...

I have finally succumbed to temptation and bought a new Mac mini (Core Duo 2). I can't say how amazed I am at this littel marvel. It feels fast with every application I've tried, and the timings I am getting from the version 25.3 of mprime are simple incredible.

Coupled to the new Mac keyboard this is a joy to use and to watch it is tiny and silent, and very stylish. With an integrated graphics card this is ot a machine for gamers, ut for anything else... Fantastic stuff from Apple.

I even used bootcamp to install Fedora Core 7 in a dual boot configuration and it works like a dream.

I think that the saying is true: "Once you go Mac, you can't go back!".

FIA interference

Outrageous. Why on Earth did FIA have to intervene in the Hamilton/Alonso incident? They did not affect anybody outside the McLaren team and, to my knowledge, the way a team deals with its own drivers is not the business of FIA. Besides, the only thing they did manage to do was to avoid what would otherwise have been a fantastic duel for the first position between Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.

The team supported Alonso in the justification of his delay on the pits, and Ron Dennis explained that Hamilton had to wait longer than usual because he had not followed the team instructions of allowing Alonso to overtake him during the beginning of Q3.

And denying McLaren all points from the race is completely absurd. Why? Why on Earth should McLaren be penalized with such a strong punishment? Do the guys making these decisions actually know anything about F1??

Even from 6th position in the grid Alonso made a great race and finished 4th, after harassing Nick Heidfeld for third position in a circuit where overtaking in notoriously hard. I was amazed at how cool he was about the whole incident, in contrast to his team mate Hamilton, who did not follow team orders, insulted his own boss, and now complains that "Alonso doesn't talk to him" as a little boy in kindergarten may do. Pathetic! I guess that is the difference between a two times world champion and a fantastic driver (which Hamilton is, there is no denying that) who is a spoiled brat. Go on mate, continue like this and people who respected you for your driving (as I did until Hungaroring) will shift gears and leave you alone. Let's see who sponsors you then.

iGoogle

I have started using the personalized google page as my home page and it rocks! It is the idea way to put together my calendar, To Do list and rss feeds. Fantastic!

And I have decided to get fit (again, I decide this every six months and drop out of my training routine after three weeks or so...) so I am commited to running at least 12km a week. I know it ain't much, but I want to try and stick to it this time. Wish me luck!
