I took these two while on holidays. The first one needs no explanation, I hope: A smiling electricity box (probably happy because of all the Christmas decorations).


The next one was a surprising find: a granite STOP sign in the middle of a small street. Actually it would be very stupid not to stop at that point if you are driving because right behind the stop sign there are is a flight of very steep stairs...

a new year starts ...

First of all: HAPPY NEW YEAR !

I came back from my hometown a few days ago and I would like to share a couple of pics with everyone out there.

First one was taken from the roof of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Yup. From the roof. Apparently there was a guy living there until a few years ago. To see the top of a cathedral covered in granite slabs and walk on top of them is quite amazing.


But the cathedral is not the only thing I like about Santiago. I've traveled a fair bit by now, and I have never found a place where I can obtain so much joy of simply walking the streets and watching the architecture. I seem to forget how much I like the place and I re-discover it every time I get back. Even at night the streets are beautiful.


Oh, well... That's it for today. A couple of funny pics tomorrow and, as soon as I have a little time, a full report on how to make the best scallops in the world. There's nothing better than my mum's recipes when it comes to fish and seafood, I swear (well, except chilli crab and black pepper crab, but that's another story...).
